The project consisted of replacement of 2 x steel tubular boilers and burners, replacement of pumps, calorifiers, valves, pipe work, flue system, control panel and wiring.
The works were phased to allow the pool to operate at all times, isolate and remove existing boiler No 1, flue system, calorifier No 1 and clear from site. Offload, and position new Boiler No 1, calorifier No 1, erect new flue system, freeze off pipework (150mm dia) to allow replacement of isolating valves, fabricate and connect pipework from existing to new equipment, connect temporary electrical supply to allow new boiler No 1 to operate.
Isolate and remove existing boiler No 2, flue system, calorifier No 2 and clear from site, offload, and position new Boiler No 2, calorifier No 2, erect new flue system, fabricate and connect pipework from existing to new equipment.
Position new control panel, and install field wiring & controls, change over from existing control panel to new, install replacement pumps, commission all plant and hand over.

The project consisted of the replacement of existing boilers, hot water generators, pumps, flue system, pipe work, valves and control system, part of the project was to develop the outline design to a fully operational project, one requirement for the new installation, was that the new boilers be transferable at a later date to a new position, this was achieved by constructing a steel base, so that the boilers and their pipework could be picked up as a package and repositioned without dismantling, the control system to be interlinked to the existing BMS within the school and also control and monitor other blocks independently, part of the works were carried out while the school was fully operational, which created additional Health and Safety requirements, with good planning and skilled staff, the project was completed successfully.

HMS President is the London centre of the Royal Naval Reserve. The project consisted of maintenance and repair of all electrical, heating, ventilation, gas, water & sanitation systems. The site consists of Offices, Classroom , Training Areas, Workshop, Gym, Changing Rooms, WC’s, Showers, Galley , Cafeteria, and Floating Pontoons for boats etc. As the rear of the site is over water, this creates a number of additional Health & Safety issues, one of the recent small works projects undertaken, was to replace the existing navigation lights, which required the lamps replacing frequently, with Solar LED powered fittings which have a very low maintenance requirement. Whilst the actual job was quite straight forward, the position of the lights was on the top guides of the floating Pontoons, which are over the water and at low tide 7-8 metres above the Pontoon, a Method Statement and Risk Assessment were carried out to ensure the works were carried out safely .
